18th century. Jean Dominique Rachette was responsible for the series of figures known as “Street Sellers (or Vendors) and Craftsmen” created in 1780s and 1790s. 1810s-1820s. Several additional models of street sellers were created, mostly by Pimenov, standing on round flat (usually gilt) bases and wearing unglazed dark blue dresses and jackets.


Period of Nicholas I (1825-1855). Most of the following models were made after colored engravings from Cris de St. Petersbourg (Собрание рисунков изображающих разнощиков в Санкт-Петербурге) by Charles Beggrow published in Russia in 1834.
