Eurytus, overcome with wine and lust, attempted to abduct the bride, Hippodamia, sparking a chaotic brawl between the Lapiths (Pirithous&#8217;s people) and the Centaurs.<br \/>\nTheseus, a guest at the wedding and a close friend of Pirithous, intervened to rescue Hippodamia. In the ensuing battle, Theseus confronted and ultimately killed Eurytus by throwing a wine krater at his head.
