Planted by monks of the abbey of Saint-Jean in the 13th century during the reign of Saint Louis. Its branches are long cut &#8220;tadpole&#8221; to give firewood. This treatment has promoted the development of fungi that now completely parasitite it. In 1970, children lit a fire in the trunk to destroy a wasp nest. The fire damaged the base of the trunk. The oak is 25 meters high, its trunk reaches more than 8 meters in circumference and its diameter is 2.45 meters.
