Born in Pavlograd in 1892, Vengerovskaya received her education abroad at the Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. During 1923-1926 worked as an artist at the State Porcelain Factory where she created a series of wonderful decorative drawings for porcelain paintings (primarily plates). Vengerovskaya’s work was presented at many domestic and international art exhibits, including Paris 1925 and London 1932. While she was clearly influenced by the work of Shchekatikhina-Pototskaya, Vengerovskaya developed her own unique style often using South Russian and Ukrainian folk subjects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
