
Born in Moscow and trained as a sculptor at the Leningrad Academy of Arts under Alexander Matveev. Kuchkina joined the Lomonosov State Porcelain Factory in 1937, where she worked for two years and created some of her best small porcelain figures. Her work centers on themes of motherhood, childhood, youth, and rural life. Married to Nikolai Koltsov. Both died in 1942 during Leningrad’s blockade carried out by Nazi Germany.
