Sevres – Vues Diverses

This small topographical service was begun during the Napoleonic period, but was completed in 1817 and delivered to Louis XVIII.  It contained 48 plates. The service is noteworthy for the quality of the painting and for the variety of decoration which features views of landscapes and palaces across Europe, often with specific connections to Napoleon, the gilt cobalt blue border design different on each plate.
