When Max Adolf Pfeiffer was dismissed as director of the Meissen manufactory on May 10th, 1933 the official opprobrium extended to Paul Scheurich, whose works were now judged to be out of style. Several models already purchased by the manufactory were only produced once Wolfgang Müller von Baczko became director on 1 November 1936.
In the meantime, in 1934, Pfeiffer was appointed an artistic and technical advisor to the Hutschenreuter manufactory in Selb. Between 1936 and 1938 the manufactory produced 4 models by Scheurich, including the female rider.
