The shape drawing is from The Minton Archive where it’s described as “Salt boy & girl support”.
Modeled as two clam shells supported on sea weed fronds on a naturalistically modelled base set with a pair of children, the boy holding a small turtle his female companion with a conch shell held to her ear.
The model was a part of 116-piece turquoise-ground dessert service purchased by Queen Victoria at the 1851 Great Exhibition.
