Leuteritz was born in Meissen in 1818. His artistic career began in 1836 as a bossier at the porcelain manufactory Meissen. In 1843 he returned to the Meissener Manufaktur and joined the design department, which he held management from 1849 until his departure in 1886. Leuteritz is rightly regarded as one of the most productive model masters of the Meissener Manufaktur. In 1893 he died in Meissen.
The shaft is decorated with applied flowers. The crowning conclusion is a finely worked plate, which shows a detailed interior scene and is framed by a deep blue cobalt background.
