Paul Scheurich began work on the large group of Europa and the Bull in 1930, though his attention was diverted by other projects, and he only delivered the model to Meissen in March 1932 for which he was paid RM 3,200. It may only have been produced in porcelain from 1934, when the first sale is recorded. By 1940, only three examples were with dealers.
