The model for this group was delivered to the Meissen manufactory shortly after Paul Scheurich returned from Paris in early Summer 1929. The group was purchased for RM 1,600 and first produced in porcelain in Autumn 1930, probably painted by Scheurich in Meissen.
The group was exhibited in Spring 1931 at the Kunstgewerbemuseum in Dresden. The surviving records of royalty payments record the first sales only in 1946.
