Paul Scheurich delivered the model for ‘Dame mit Hirschkuh’ to the manufactory in December of 1930, for which he was paid RM 2,800. It was intended to be made only in white and the first example was produced in June 1931 and the first sale was in 1932. This group, together with five other models by Scheurich, was awarded the Grand Prix at the Paris World Exposition of 1937. Nineteen examples had been sold by 1948.
The subject of this group is most likely Genoveva, after Robert Schumann’s opera, which is based on the medieval legend of Genevieve of Brabant.
