Meissen figure Spring

Model Number: A 1242
Height: 59 cm
The allegorical figure of Spring or Flora was modeled by Paul Scheurich in 1931 and delivered to the manufactory at the end of April 1932, which purchased it for RM 2,500. It was not produced in porcelain, initially because of the difficult economic situation and subsequently because Scheurich’s relationship with the manufactory soured following the departure of Pfeiffer. In 1937, Wolfgang Müller von Baczko asked Scheurich to rework the figure and it was produced in porcelain in time for the Leipzig Autumn Fair in 1937. Only one sale in 1942 is recorded.
