“Seated Diana” was the third model based on classical mythology that Paul Scheurich created for Meissen between 1919 and 1920. Before offering it to the factory which purchased it in 1921 for RM 9,000, he displayed it at the exhibition of the Berlin Secession in 1920. The first porcelain figure was sold by Meissen in November 1921, and 115 had been sold by the end of 1931.
