Porcelain painter: Henri-Albert Adam (1766-1820).
The plate depicts Aurora, the Roman goddess of the dawn, winged, rising each morning to herald the arrival of the sun.
She is the equivalent of the Greek goddess Eos. She is the sister of Sol (the sun god) and Luna (the moon goddess).
