Sevres Plate Olympique Service Hercules Killing Amazon Euribia

As the ninth of his Twelve Labors, Hercules was tasked with obtaining the belt of Hippolyta, the Amazonian Queen.
While Hippolyta initially agreed to give Hercules her belt, Hera, the goddess who was Heracles’ nemesis, disguised herself as an Amazon and spread rumors that Hercules intended to kidnap the Queen. This provoked the Amazons into attacking Hercules and his companions, leading to a bloody battle where Queen Hippolyta and lots of other Amazons including Eurybia were killed. Hercules then took the belt and completed his labor.
